What exactly is netiquette? As stated by Albion (2011), is simply the etiquette's of the net. Netiquettes provides students with the do's and do not's to safely and proper browse and use the web. The following list , provided by Roblyer (2015), gives teachers a proper guideline for their students to follow in order to demonstrate netiquette skills when using social networking and considering cyberbullying:
1. Always be friendly and helpful when responding or posting to the web.
2. Be open to other people's opinions being different from yours. When someone's opinion is not the same as yours and you would like to disagree, then disagree in a polite and acceptable way. Do not lose your temper just because the world has different thoughts, ideas, and individual personalities.
3. Don't always think the worse on someone's intent. If you are unsure, just simply ask for a clearer clarification.
4. Try not use sarcasm on the web. Someone reading your posts or statements are not sitting in front of you to hear your laugh or sense of humor in your tone. When reading a statement, someone could take the tone anyway, even if it was in a joking manner.
5. NEVER use profanity. First, this is unprofessional. Second, this could offend many people. Third, many teachers teach netiquettes in a classroom setting, so this is very inappropriate.
